When the two Districts of Camden and Islington were amalgamated in October 2004 to make the new District of Camden, City & Islington, we needed to have a new badge to make us united and give us a proper identity. We set about getting ideas from our members and we had some fantastic designs sent to us from a lot of youngsters. Most were of famous buildings in the districts.

Most featured the Swiss Building and also the BT Tower but no buildings came from Islington. So we decided that the Business Design Centre on Upper St would be a great choice to add to the other two buildings, representing a very modern feel with communications, business and Finance. We sent this idea to our designer who wishes to remain anonymous but we would like to thank her very much and her team, who have done a fantastic job designing the badge. We would also like to thank our badge makers who fine tuned the design to get it correct for making into a badge also to Brian G for all his expert help.

But most of all a huge thank you to everyone that sent in a design to give us the idea in the first place, especially the youngsters. The designs were fantastic.

Thank you to all who helped with this project i think you will agree it is a very apt badge for the new district.
